The Judith D. Tamkin Symposium on Elder Abuse is being held in Pasadena, CA from March 1-2, 2018. This event brings together premier researchers from around the world to discuss their work and share their best practices. The mission of the symposium is to create safe and healthy environments for all elders, here and across the world, by bringing thought leaders, activists, caregivers, researchers, lawmakers, and other stakeholders together to share findings, strategize solutions, and help shape and propel the field of elder abuse and justice.

Event Description: 

This symposium will provide tools for your community to meet the challenges of caring for a growing population of older adults. Presenters will discuss tools communities can use to advocate and plan community-based health and long-term services and supports. The symposium will take place at the Capitol View Conference Center 101 Constitution Ave NW Washington, DC. If you cannot attend in person, you may also register for the webcast.

See Me at the Portrait Gallery - Smithsonian Pilot Program for Adults with Dementia & their Caregivers

Event Description: 

A new pilot program is launching this fall at the Smithsonian. In collaboration with Art & Minds, the National Portrait Gallery will be hosting a 6-week program for adults with dementia and their caregivers. The program is entitled See Me at the Portrait Gallery. A team of museum educators and docents will be facilitating small group discussions about some of the museum’s most treasured works of art.

Research Summit on Dementia Care Building Evidence for Services and Supports

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and private sector organizations are sponsoring the National Research Summit on Care, Services, and Supports for Persons with Dementia and Their Caregivers. This is a two day meeting open to the public. In-person registration is now full, but if you would like to participate in this meeting, you are encouraged to register for the videocast option.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Third Global Summit
