Event Description:
The Institute of Medicine's National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is hosting a two day workshop on nutrition and aging. The workshop will examine what we can each do to address the changing dietary needs of the older adult population. There will be specific emphasis on gaining understanding of the factors in the physical, social, and cultural environment that impact nutrition and the aging process. The workshop will cover:
- What is Healthy Aging?
- Preferences and Behaviors of the 50+ population
- Emerging Physiological Insights
- Emerging Ecological Insights
- National Programs Addressing the Dietary Needs of the Older Adult Population
- Roles of the Community and Food Sector
- Research Priorities and Gaps
There will be a webcast of the event available online if you cannot make it to the workshop in person.
