Over 50 million retired workers receive Social Security benefits each month, making up 75% of those receiving benefits from the Social Security Administration. Most people are familiar with Social Security retirement benefits, but many don’t understand the rules covering them.

Webinar: 2023 National Survey of Transportation Providers

Event Description: 

The National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) is a project of USAging and Easterseals. The NADTC partnered with Southpaw Insights and commissioned a survey of transportation providers that serve older adults and people with disabilities. The purpose of the survey was to update data collected in the 2019 Transportation Provider Survey and identify work being done by transportation providers to address coordination and diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Provider Survey Report describes the experiences and perspectives of the 445 transportation who responded.

Webinar: The NASDDDS Access Rule Industry Survey

The National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS) recently surveyed directors and staff at waiver programs across the country to capture their views on "The Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services" final rule from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Virtual Town Hall: Scams & Older Adults

Event Description: 

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), AARP, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) are hosting a virtual town hall on scams. Older adults, families, professionals, and other stakeholders are invited to attend. The event will cover topics like how scams are successful, real-life experience of a scam victim, an overview of Money Smart for Older Adults, and how to protect yourself and others from scam attempts.

Webinar: HCBS Quality Measure Set Orientation Meeting

Event Description: 

Mathematica is holding a meeting of the 2028 HCBS Quality Measure Set Review Workgroup. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a home and community-based services (HCBS) Quality Measure Set to standardize quality measures in HCBS programs. The HCBS Quality Measure Set was updated this year, and is undergoing a review process to update the 2028 Set. The HCBS Quality Measure Set Review Workgroup meetings are open to the public, and any interest groups are invited to attend.

The Request for Session Proposals for the upcoming Inform USA Conference is open and ready to accept session ideas. The conference will be held on Monday, May 19 - Thursday, May 22, 2025, in Anaheim, California. Inform USA seeks session proposals from across the breadth of the Information and Referral field. The primary audience is I&R professionals from all levels of any organization providing community navigation in the U.S. or Canada. Submit a session proposal for an opportunity to share experiences, innovations, and lessons with I&R peers.

FEMA Webinar on Disability Discrimination

The Federal Emergency Management Agency's Office of Civil Rights is hosting a webinar on "Preventing and Addressing Disability Discrimination" where technical assistance will be provided on disability access and information about compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Section 504 prohibits the discrimination of individuals with disabilities in programs and activities that are federally funded.

Webinar: The Power of Lived Experience in the Workforce

Event Description: 

As communities address the growing problems of homelessness, substance use, and mental health, there is also a workforce crisis that has made it more difficult to properly staff the organizations serving on the front lines. One solution is to mobilize people with lived experience — those who have experienced homelessness, problematic substance use, mental health disorders, or justice system involvement.
