Strengthening the Dementia Capable Workforce: Dementia Training for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Service Providers

Event Description: 

The Administration for Community Living’s (ACL) National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC), with support from RTI International, is hosting an upcoming webinar titled “Strengthening the Dementia Capable Workforce: Dementia Training for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Service Providers.” This webinar will explore educational programs used to train providers of aging and intellectual and developmental disability services. NADRC will also discuss Ohio's efforts in building support systems for individuals, families, and providers in local communities during this session. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will explore methods to provide training on dementia to direct support staff working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Participants will understand ways to build partnerships with the field of aging and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Participants will learn at least three areas of essential content to include in educational sessions focused on the topic of intellectual and developmental disabilities and dementia.
