This webinar will focus on the use and benefits of value, performance, and outcome-based payment methodologies to help advance competitive integrated employment (CIE) within managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) programs. Presenters will include a representative from Inclusa Inc., Moving to a Different Drum LLC, and Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council, as well as a self-advocate who will share their experience with MLTSS to achieve meaningful employment.

 

 

As the prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia increases, law enforcement agencies across the country are increasingly called upon to respond to dementia-related incidents: wandering, abuse, domestic disturbances and more. By collaborating with local dementia support organizations, law enforcement entities can better identify, understand and support the needs of people living with dementia and those who care for them.

 

During this webinar, the National Recreation and Park Association will share how parks and recreation agencies are addressing social isolation among older adults. The County of San Diego Health & Human Services Agency, Aging & Independence Services will share how they developed collaborative efforts with their local parks and recreation departments to create opportunities for social engagement. Speakers will share tips and strategies for Aging Network organizations interested in partnering with parks and recreation agencies.

 

The Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) Reinvestment Program, administered by the Department of Medical Assistance Services, provides an opportunity to improve the quality of life and care for nursing home residents by imposing financial penalties on facilities that are out of compliance with one or more Medicare and Medicaid participation requirements for Long-Term Care Facilities. The CMP Reinvestment Program solicits applications for use of these funds from eligible applicants for projects that directly improve the quality of life and care for residents.

ACL has announce the first joint meeting of the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council and the Advisory Council to Support Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (SGRG) as they collaborate to develop the National Family Caregiving Strategy. This virtual meeting is open to the public. This webinar will discuss Oneida Nation’s experience during the transition from a 1915(c) waiver to providing home and community-based services under 1915(b). The webinar will describe Oneida Nation’s journey from providing HCBS based on a fee-for-service model to providing those services based on a managed-care model, summarize how 1915(b) waivers differ from 1915(c) waivers, identify unique problems with 1915(b) waivers that must be resolved during the transition from 1915(c) waivers and suggest strategies to transition into a 1915(b) environment.
