First Elder Justice Coordinating Council Meeting of Biden-Harris Administration

ACL is hosting a virtual Elder Justice Coordinating Council (EJCC) meeting for Fall 2021. The Elder Justice Coordinating Council convenes leaders from across the federal government to discuss and address elder justice issues. The Council is comprised of leaders focused on administering programs related to abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation with federal department, agencies, and entities.

Build Back Better: Vision for a Post-pandemic World That Is Person-Centered and Inclusive for All People With Disabilities"

Event Description: 

NCAPPS is hosting a webinar discussing how the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need to address issues about health disparities, inaccessibility, ableism, and community engagement. Panelists consisting of people with disabilities, family members, direct support professionals, and advocates will share how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted people with disabilities. Panelists will also share their perspectives on how to make the “new normal” more inclusive of people with disabilities.

Supporting Families Summit

Event Description: 
Join this webinar to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the National Agenda for Supporting Families with a Member with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The event will faciliate discussion about the reality of supporting families in several key areas, such as:
  • Enhancements to state service system structures;

2023 Child and Adult Core Set Annual Review Workgroup

Event Description: 
On December 15, 2021, Mathematica will convene the first meeting of the 2023 Child and Adult Core Set Annual Review Workgroup. The Workgroup is charged with making recommendations to strengthen and improve the 2023 Child and Adult Core Sets. Mathematica invites stakeholders with an interest in Medicaid and CHIP health care quality measurement to attend. The meeting dates are listed below:

Understanding Transportation Barriers for Diverse Individuals with Disabilities and Older Adults

Event Description: 
The NIDILRR-funded Mid-Atlantic ADA Regional Center will host a webinar to discuss the results from a national survey to inform participants about transportation barriers, modes, and potential solutions that respond to mobility needs of people with disabilities and older adults. Presenters will discuss how transportation equity is especially relevant now COVID-19 as increased isolation. Continuing education credits are available upon request.
 

Section 508 – A Celebration of Twenty Years

Event Description: 
The NIDILRR-funded Great Lakes ADA Regional Center will host a webinar to showcase the work of accessibility professionals who developed the original web accessibility standards under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act in 2000 and the revised standards in 2017. Presenters will highlight the impact the standards have had on the accessibility of information and communication technology around the world.

Aging as a Women’s Equity Issue: Forging a Path Forward

Join the SCAN Foundation for a special policy briefing that will address challenges women face as they age that effect their economic security, health, and mental health. Participants will hear from leading policymakers and experts in California who will speak to issues of gender identity, racial descriminiation and health equity, as well as related policy opportunities, and the Master Plan’s path forward for a new paradigm of aging in California.
