The Role of Transportation in Cross-Sector Collaborations Designed to Improve Housing Stability

The Housing and Services Resource Center is hosting a webinar on the role of partnerships between housing, transportation, aging and disability, and health resources in supporting housing stability and community living for older adults and people with disabilities. The webinar will highlight effective collaborations with public transportation, share technical assistance resources that can be used to strengthen community transportation partnerships, and answer questions from attendees. 

This webinar will be held on Monday, February 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET.

Closing the Justice Gap for Older Adults

The Legal Services Corporation, the Administration for Community Living, and the National Center on Law and Elder Rights are hosting a new webinar series, Closing the Justice Gap for Older Adults.  The webinar series is designed for legal aid attorneys, staff, and partners to teach attendees how to better provide person first counsel to older adults. Topics for this series range from nursing facility evictions, decision capabilities, APS aid collaboration, guardianship and more. 

Community-Based Early Dementia Screening Leads to Support for Caregivers and People Living with Dementia

Join the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center for a webinar on the key role that community based organizations play in conducting dementia screenings and keeping people in the community longer. Participants will learn from two Alzheimer’s Disease Program Initiative grantees about programs in their community and their successful implementation.

Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Settings Regulation: Fitting the Pieces Together

Event Description: 

Join CMS for a webinar that will review the various activities of states as they work to meet the HCBS Final settings rule. The webinar will also include a discussion of implementation tools, Statewide Transition Plans (STPs), Heightened Scrutiny, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and an overview of medicaid waiver and state plan provisions to help states reach the final rule requirements.

Webinar on Rule Change to Make Grandparents and Other Relatives Eligible for Resources to Support Them in Caring for Children

Event Description: 

On Tuesday, February 14, 2023 the Administration for Children and Families announced a proposal that will make it easier to licescene relatives to foster children when their parents are not able to care for them. The rule would allow more grandparents and other relatives to access financial assistance and other resources that are available to licensed foster homes. The rule would also allow child welfare agencies to create separate kinship caregiver licensing standards, making it easier for children to remain with their family members during difficult times. 

An Untapped Funding Approach: Using Medicaid to Pay for Live-In Caregiver Housing and to Offset Wages for Care
