Wellness Edge: Staying Apart Together

Event Description: 

The Human Development Institute at the University of Kentucky is hosting a webinar on inclusive virtual wellness practices. This webinar is the second event discussing Wellness Edge, a part of the PRC State Pilot program that aims to increase the quality of engagement for individuals with paralysis and their support networks in recreational settings. This webinar will cover wellness activities including crossfit, social distancing in parks, and health check-ins.

Dementia Workforce Development: Two Models to Prepare for the Future

Event Description: 

This webinar will help participants learn how they can build a local dementia workforce. The webinar will use case studies from two programs that have successfully addressed workforce needs in unique ways. During this webinar, participants will learn how to create dementia-friendly communities and be introduced to dementia-related resources that they can use in their own communities.

Tracking State Responses to COVID-19 for Home Health and Home Care Providers

Event Description: 

HMA has been tracking how states are working to improve access to long-term services and supports in the midst of the pandemic. During this webinar, HMA experts will present their results and discuss how states have utilized Medicaid authorities, legislation, and policies of their own. Participants will also hear from home health and home care industry experts who will provide their perspective on state actions.

World Elder Abuse Day 2020 Webinar

Event Description: 

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is June 15, 2020. During this year's observance, NCEA is hosting a webinar. Federal partners will come together and lead a national discussion about prominent elder justice issues and trends. Participants will learn about available resources, including for promoting awareness and providing support for older adults.

This webinar, hosted by the Community Living Policy Center at the Lurie Institute of Disability Policy at Brandeis University, will explore the Long-Term Services and Supports Coordinator. The webinar will discuss how Massachusett's OneCare Program created and utilized the LTSS Coordinator. Participants will learn the roles that the LTSS Cooridnator plays.

UNITE Part 1: Long-term Care Facilities’ Response to COVID-19

CMS' May Long-Term Services and Supports webinar will feature UNITE, Uniting Tribal Nursing Homes in Excellence. The webinar will take the format of a panel discussion and will be administrated by nursing home and assisted living facility administrators. Participants will learn about how UNITE members have been impacted by COVID-19 and how they have overcome challenges to the operations of their long-term care facilities.

This webinar will review the issue of scams during the COVID-10 pandemic. It will provide an overview of common scams, including fake tests and cures, robocalls, government imposters, business email compromise, and Paycheck Protection Program messages. During the webinar, presenters will discuss how advocates  can help their clients avoid these scams while also protecting themselves and their organizations. Participants will also learn online safety tips for working from home and video conferencing.
