Annual Conference and Tradeshow of the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging

Event Description: 
The n4a Annual Conference and Tradeshow will gather professionals in the field of aging to learn about and discuss innovation, current issues, best practices, and new programs in the field. Topics covered at the conference will include: advocacy for older adults, best practices to improve health outcomes for older adults, developing livable communities for all ages, elder justice, and more. This will be a virtual event.
 
This conference will be held from July 19-22, 2021.
 

Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Conference

Event Description: 

The Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Conference is ADvancing States’ national conference that annually brings together state, federal, and local policymakers as well as leaders who administer, manage, and deliver waiver and other HCBS programs. The purpose of the HCBS Conference is to share practices and policies that improve state systems delivering long-term services and supports (LTSS) for all ages and abilities.

2021 Liberty, Independence, Freedom, and Equity Conference

Event Description: 
Registration is now open for NCIL's 2021 Liberty, Independence, Freedom, and Equity (LIFE) Conference. The conference theme aligns with NCIL's mission to fight for the liberty of people with disabilities incarcerated in institutions, including nursing homes, psychiatric institutions, intermediate care facilities, jails and prisons.
 
This conference will be held on July 19-30, 2021.
 

International Respite (Short Break) Conference – Moving Respite Forward

Event Description: 
The International Short Break Association (ISBA) and its cohosts, the ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center, the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Nursing, and the Respite Care Association of Wisconsin will be hosting the 2021 International Short Break Conference on June 22-25, 2021. The objective of the conferenece is to share knowledge and understanding of respite by highlighting international leaders in the field.

Virtual Summit on Mitigating Racial Inequities in Post-Acute & Long-Term Care

Event Description: 

AELTCC is hosting its 2020 Annual Summit which will explore strategies for mitigating racial inequities in post-acute and long-term care settings. This three-day summit includes presentations on how the presence and causes of racial disparities in nursing and the connection to system racism, strategies for AELTCC members to develop plans of action to address racial inequity, and discussions on next steps for advancing equity in post-acute and long-term care.

This summit will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020 to Friday, December 11, 2020.

RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council Upcoming Virtual Full Council Meeting

Event Description: 

ACL is hosting the sixth meeting of the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council. The Advisory Council’s purpose is to support the development and execution of a national family caregiving strategy. The virtual meeting is open to the public and the agenda and webinar link will be posted to the RAISE webpage before the meeting.

This meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.

A National Disability Employment Awareness Month Virtual Event. Employment Innovation: Improving Work for People with Disabilities

Event Description: 

ACL announced a virtual event celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The event will focus on the work of the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). The event will highlight past, current, and future research endeavors aimed towards the advancement of employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Presentations and panel discussions include NIDILRR grantees, with remarks from ACL Administrator Lance Robertson.
