AELTCC is hosting its 2020 Annual Summit which will explore strategies for mitigating racial inequities in post-acute and long-term care settings. This three-day summit includes presentations on how the presence and causes of racial disparities in nursing and the connection to system racism, strategies for AELTCC members to develop plans of action to address racial inequity, and discussions on next steps for advancing equity in post-acute and long-term care.

This summit will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020 to Friday, December 11, 2020.

ACL is hosting the sixth meeting of the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council. The Advisory Council’s purpose is to support the development and execution of a national family caregiving strategy. The virtual meeting is open to the public and the agenda and webinar link will be posted to the RAISE webpage before the meeting.

This meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.

ACL announced a virtual event celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The event will focus on the work of the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). The event will highlight past, current, and future research endeavors aimed towards the advancement of employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Presentations and panel discussions include NIDILRR grantees, with remarks from ACL Administrator Lance Robertson.

Registration is open for the Consumer Voice 44^th Annual Conference. The theme of this virtual event is “Quality Now and Tomorrow: Creating a Better Future Together”. Attendees can expect to hear from expert speakers, learn the most up-to-date policy information,  and network with a community of other long-term care advocates. Session topics include:

engAGED is hosting a virtal summit about social isolation and engagement among older adults. During this event. speakers will present recent research on the topic and discuss best practices. Attendees will learn about innovations to combat social isolation during COVID-19 and strategies for addressing social isolation in diverse communities. Registration for this event is open to the public at no cost.

Senator Bob Casey (ranking member, Senate Special Committee on Aging) is hosting an upcoming Virtual Aging Conference. This event will focus on how COVID-19 has impacted nursing home residents and how to expand access to long-term services and supports. This free event is open to the general public.

This conference provides geriatric health professionals throughout the continuum of care with clinical and practical topics relevant to health practice with older adults. These topics were selected because they represent areas of need as identified by participants and faculty who provide health care to older adults. Some topics represent increasing clinical concerns in the geriatric population. Other topics represent areas that have important policy and cost implications for health care providers and ultimately affect the way services are provided to older patients.

The 2020 HCBS Conference will be virtual! The theme for this year's conference is "Shift Happens"- an acknowledgment of the impact COVID-19 has had on our work, and how we are coming together to manage, adapt, survive, and thrive.

The National Institute on the Prosecution of Elder Abuse (NIPEA) is a three day course for elder abuse prosecutors. Participants learn practical skills by working two actual cases. They also explore ethical issues, relevant medical evidence, and the importantce of a victim-centered community response. NIPEA will be held in San Antonio, Texas from November 6-November 8, 2019.
