Disability and Rural Communities: Making a Difference in Small Towns
People with disabilities are a rich part of the rural fabric of America. Yet many people ask why a person or a family would remain in a rural community when faced with considerable hardships such as lack of Internet access and technology, lack of reliable transportation, and lack of needed supports and services. Why is rural America is so important to those that live there anyway? Why not just move if things are so hard? Those are the easy questions to answer.

By resolution 44/236 (22 December 1989), the General Assembly designated the second Wednesday of October International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction. The International Day was to be observed annually during the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction, 1990-1999.
5th Biennial Financial Management Services Conference
Overview
The NRCPDS is excited to be hosting our 5th Biennial Financial Management Services (FMS) Conference this November 4-5, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, MD. The FMS Conference will be a day-and-a-half long and will feature workshops with participant direction tax experts within the Internal Revenue Service as well as with other FMS specialists and experts.
