Cultural Competence: What it Means for Person-Centered Thinking, Planning, & Practice

Event Description: 

Cultural competence is widely recognized as essential to the delivery of high quality and effective services and supports by policy makers, health, mental health and social service professionals, educators, and researchers. This NCAPPS webinar will describe the importance of integrating cultural competence with person-centered thinking, planning, and practice. Participants will learn a framework for cultural competence at the individual and organizational levels and hear examples of organizations putting this into practice. The webinar will also highlight personal narratives of individuals as they share what culturally competent services mean to them.
