The State of the States in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Project analyzes nearly 40 years’ worth of public financial investments in IDD services and supports, offering a comparative nationwide longitudinal look at financial and programmatic trends in institutional and community-based services for people with IDD in the US.

2016-17 NCI-AD National Report: A Closer Look

Event Description: 

The National Core Indicators-Aging and Disabilities (NCI-AD™) is an initiative designed to support states in assessing the performance of their publicly-funded long-term services and supports programs and delivery systems in order to improve services for older adults and people with physical disabilities. Data are collected through in-person NCI-AD Adult Consumer Surveys conducted with individuals receiving services, or their proxy if needed. At the end of every annual NCI-AD survey cycle, data from participating states are analyzed and compiled into a comprehensive national report.

Building The Framework For IDD Quality Measures

Medicaid managed care for long term services and supports (MLTSS) is now in use or being considered in over half of the country. Medicaid managed care makes managed care organizations (MCOs) responsible for the delivery of LTSS to older adults and people with physical or intellectual or developmental disabilities. Early implementation often focused on the delivery of care for older adults and people with physical disabilities, leaving a gap in experience for its use with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD).

This training will provide an overview of key competencies needed for aging and disability I&R/A professionals, and will provide preparation for the AIRS Certification exam for I&R Specialists in Aging/Disabilities.
