Helping Youth with Disabilities Flourish: Improving Outcomes for Children in the Supplemental Security Income Program

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program provides cash assistance to the families of low-income children with disabilities. Program enrollment has risen faster than can be explained by changes in demographics, health, or income. More concerning is that SSI youth suffer low levels of educational attainment and low work rates, and trends are similar for adults who grew up on the program. Additional steps need to be taken to understand and curb these trends.

2015 Annual Information and Referral (I&R) Training and Education Conference

The Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) in collaboration with ADvancing States, the National Aging and Disability I&R Support Center, and military family support specialists will hold the 37th Annual I&R Training and Education Conference, "AIRS: Branding I&R Excellence," in Dallas, Texas, from May 27th to 30th. The Annual National Aging and Disability I&R/A Symposium will take place as a pre-conference summit on May 27.

NASI Annual Conference: Medicare and Medicaid: The Next 50 Years

The National Academy of Social Insurance's 27th annual conference, Medicare and Medicaid: The Next 50 Years, January 28-29, 2015, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, will feature five pre-conference roundtable sessions. Each roundtable session has been developed by Academy members to focus discussion on key issues in the social insurance policy arena.

The Alzheimer's Disease Research Summit 2015: Path to Treatment and Prevention will be held February 9-10, 2015 at the National Institutes of Health. The central goal of the Summit is to continue the development of an integrated multidisciplinary research agenda necessary to address critical knowledge gaps and accelerate the discovery and delivery of effective treatments for Alzheimer's patients at all stages of disease.
