LTQA and ATI Advisory will host a webinar titled “A Deep Dive on In-Home Support Services, Caregiver Supports, and Social Needs Benefits: How Medicare Advantage Plans are Using These Benefits to Meaningfully Meet Members’ Needs”. To advance understanding of these benefits, LTQA and ATI Advisory, with support from The SCAN Foundation, have analyzed Medicare Advantage plans’ benefits designed to resemble Medicaid benefits to support Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) needs – in-home support services (IHSS), caregiver supports, and social needs benefits.

Implementing the Home and Community-Based Services Settings Rule: Protecting Consumers from Harmful Evictions

Event Description: 

Justice in Aging will host a webinar on protecting consumers from evictions as states continue to implement the HCBS settings rule. The webinar will provide a high-level overview of the HCBS settings rule, define the eviction protections outlined in the Rule, and offer a baseline of the level of legal knowledge around eviction protections for older adults.

ABLE Accounts and Supplemental Security Income

Event Description: 

Justice in Aging will host a webinar on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and ABLE accounts, including information and training on SSI and ABLE account basics, how ABLE accounts can increase financial independence for those receiving SSI payments, how ABLE accounts interact with SSI and Medicaid, and resources and tools.  The webinar is directed towards advocates working with older adults and people with disabilities, including SSI beneficiaries.

Disaster readiness begins with planning, but for professionals and consumers alike, taking steps to be prepared for an emergency or disaster isn’t always easy. The COVID-19 pandemic, recent natural disasters, and other emergency situations have offered many lessons for disaster preparedness and response. In 2022, ADvancing States’ National I&R Support Center held a contest to identify promising practices in the field, recognizing how vital I&R/A services are to communities experiencing disasters.
