Medicaid managed care makes managed care organizations (MCOs) responsible for the delivery of LTSS to older adults and people with physical or intellectual or developmental disabilities. Early implementation often focused on the delivery of care for older adults and people with physical disabilities, leaving a gap in experience for its use with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD).
