The Arc is hosting a webinar to discuss the challenges people with I/DD and mental health needs and their families face. This webinar will review two recent projects that studied the needs of these individuals how to better support people and their families. 

Mathematica’s Center for Studying Disability Policy is hosting a webinar on how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010 affects individuals with disabilities. In particular, this webinar will address how the ACA impacted access to health insurance for people with disabilities.

The National Council on Independent Living's (NCIL) Annual Conference is the largest Independent Living event of the year. NCIL regularly hosts over 1,000 people, including grassroots advocates, CIL and SILC leadership, members of Congress, government officials, and representatives from other major organizations that work for justice and equity for people with disabilities.

The theme of NCIL’s 2019 Annual Conference on Independent Living is IGNITE. 

The growing population of older adults is creating unprecedented pressure on our health care system and social safety net. States, MCOs, area agencies on aging, health care providers, and community-based organizations must include the implications of the Chronic Care Act (CCA) into their ongoing strategies for serving adults with complex care needs. This webinar will help chart that course and identify the key components of the CCA most likely to affect you in 2019.

The Employment Policy and Measurement Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (EPM-RRTC) State of the Science Conference will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Following this event, the Annual Disability Statistics Compendium Event on Wednesday, February 13. These events are both held in Washington DC and offer both in-person and webcast participation options.  The agenda, presenters, and logon procedures (for web viewers) will be emailed to attendees as they become available.

NORC has announced the launch of a five-part webinar series on the revised National Ombudsman Reporting System (NORS) training materials created by NORC. This webinar series will introduce the new training materials to help programs prepare for the transition to new codes, definitions, and activities on October 1, 2019. The first webinar will introduce the revised data collection instructions for the National Ombudsman Reporting Systems (NORS).

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) is hosting a three-part webinar series on pain medication education and resources. The first webinar in this series will provide an introduction to a fundamental baseline of pain medications. It will discuss the types of pain caused by living with paralysis and the corresponding medications that may be taken. Finally, this webinar will cover potential resources for staying updated about pain medications.
