Webinar: Building Gauges to Measure National Progress on Transition Outcomes

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is hosting a webinar that will describe activities of the National Autism Data Center (NAUCD) with emphasis on national indicators related to transition. Paul Shattuck, founder of NAUCD, will present the range of information products available through the Center and plans for additional transition research projects. Laura Ivanova Smith, UW LEND Advocate Faculty, will also provide a personal perspective on transition planning and employment.  The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, 2016, from 12:00 p.m.

Webinar: Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program

The Centers for Medicare & Medicare Services' (CMS) Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMS Innovation Center) is hosting a webinar to discuss the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program that was proposed on July 7, 2018. The program is a structured lifestyle intervention that includes dietary coaching, lifestyle intervention, and moderate physical activity, all with the goal of preventing the onset of diabetes in individuals who are pre-diabetic. The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET.

Webinar: Developing and Implementing Faith-Related Dementia Programs

The National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC) will present a webinar entitled “Examples of Developing and Implementing Faith-Related Dementia Programs.” Participates will learn about two faith-related programs for people with dementia and their caregivers— Alzheimer’s Orange County Interfaith Outreach Program in Orange County, California and the Respite Ministry in Montgomery, Alabama.  The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET. 

Webinar: Closer Look at the New ABLE Programs

The ABLE National Resource Center (ANRC) is hosting the webinar “A Closer Look at the New ABLE Programs” for potential ABLE participants, their families, and all other ABLE stakeholders. The session will feature representatives from the Ohio STABLE program, ABLE TN, Nebraska Enable Savings Program, and the Florida ABLE United Program. The webinar is intended to help participants understand the differences between the various ABLE programs.

Long-Term Services and Supports Open Door Forum

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is holding an upcoming Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Open Door Forum that will focus on Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS). The integration of LTSS and associated beneficiary protections into the Medicaid managed care regulatory will be discussed. The “open door forums” are hosted to provide an opportunity for live dialogue and foster strong collaboration between CMS and the stakeholder community at large.
