Managing, Surviving, and Thriving on Change within the I&R Sector

One of the few constants in the field and practice of I&R is change: new programs and services, new technologies, new reporting requirements and partnerships. Individuals can find change difficult after becoming comfortable in the familiarity of the processes and functions learned over the years. On Tuesday, February 24, AIRS will host a webinar featuring  former AIRS President Faed Hendry of Findhelp Information Services in Toronto, Ontario, to discuss why we resist change and how to manage change.

White House Conference on Aging Tele-Town Hall

After gathering public questions and comments in the focus areas of healthy aging, long-term services and supports, retirement security, and elder justice, the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) will host a discussion with 2015 White House Conference on Aging Executive Director Nora Super for a Family Caregiving Tele-Town Hall. Guest speakers will include NAC President/CEO Gail Gibson Hunt and Caregiver Action Network CEO John Schall.

Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Dementia: Experiences of a Family Advocate and Promising Practices

This webinar will provide participants with information on personal experiences, advocacy efforts, and helpful practices for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/D) and dementia. Mary Hogan will speak about her personal experience as guardian for her late brother and an advocate for her brother and others with intellectual and developmental disabilities and dementia. Phil McCallion will speak about promising practices of how to work with people with ID/D and dementia.

Elder Justice: Addressing it through a Multidisciplinary Approach

Elder justice is a multidisciplinary issue, and this webinar will provide an overview of what the Federal government is doing to address it across agencies and programs. Speakers will include officials from the Departments of Health and Human Services and Justice, as well as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Registration is required and open until February 10th.

Show Me Summit on Aging and Health

The "Set Sail for the Future," 12th Annual Show Me Summit on Aging and Health will take place August 17-19, 2015, in Lake Ozark, Missouri, at the Lodge of Four Seasons. Ma4 has opened a call for presentations and requests that applications be submitted by March 15.

The Summit will present four tracks: Stress Busters and Burnout Blasters; Aging Strong; Transformation of Senior Services; and Spotlight on Senior Achievements.
