Toward Seamless Coverage: Helping Clients Transition from Medicaid Expansion to Medicare

Event Description: 

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is hosting a webinar to discuss findings and promising practices that can help eligible seniors maintain coverage as they switch from Medicaid expansion to Medicare. 32 states and the District of Columbia have expanded their Medicaid programs. This has extended Medicaid coverage to low-income adults aged 19-64 with incomes up to 138% of the federal poverty level, and this is called the “Adult Group”. However, this population is not permitted to have both Medicaid and Medicare.

Research Summit on Dementia Care Building Evidence for Services and Supports

Webinar: Medical Debt Strategies for Older Consumers

Medical debt is one of the most prevalent types of consumer debt. For both elder and non-elder consumers, 20% have at least one medical debt collection item in their credit reports. Additionally, elders are more likely than younger consumers to file for bankruptcy due to medical expenses. This webinar, hosted by the National Center on Law and Elder Rights (NCLER), will discuss the issues facing older consumers and offer strategies to address the challenges. The presentation will also highlight health care and medical debt protections which may be available to older consumers.

  • Social Security's Ticket to Work program.

Medicaid Long-Term Services and Supports Webinar

Event Description: 

This webinar from the National Center on Law and Elder Rights (NCLER) is a follow-up to September’s Medicaid 101 webinar. This webinar will provide an overview of LTSS, and will include both home and community-based services and institutional care. Participants will learn about care provided at home, at a day center, in an assisted living facility, or in a nursing facility. In many cases, LTSS is funded through Medicaid, and the financing and quality of LTSS often depend upon Medicaid laws and policies.
