High Prevalence of Elder Abuse during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Risk and Resilience Factors

Before COVID-19, elder abuse affected one in 10 older adults annually in the United States. It is widely thought that the pandemic has led to a surge in elder abuse due to the stay-at-home order and increased interpersonal, social, and financial stressors, yet edivence is lacking on the involvement of these factors. This webinar will present data from the first investigation of self-reported elder abuse victimization in a relatively large and diverse sample of older adults.

ACL National Falls Prevention and CDSME Resource Centers, operated by NCOA, are hosting a four-part webinar series to raise awareness about the role of Community Health Workers (CHWs) in the implementation of evidence-based programs.
