Transportation Strategies to Strengthen Social Connectedness of Older Adults and People with Disabilities

ACL’s Commit to Connect initiative will hold a webinar highlighting transportation strategies that can strengthen social connectedness among older adults and people with disabilities.

The Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility Technical Assistance Center will share strategies and resources to help aging and disability networks strengthen transportation programs. Presenters from the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio will discuss its home52 Transportation program, which provides specialized door-to-door transportation, and Aging & Independent Services in San Diego County will highlight its public transit training “field trips,” which use peer support, community engagement, and skill building to increase mobility and social connection.
