Webinar - Overview of ACL’s proposed APS regulations

Event Description:

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) is seeking public input on a proposed rule to establish the first-ever federal regulations for adult protective services (APS) programs. Stakeholders are invited to attend an informational webinar with ACL on September 18, where the proposed rule will be overviewed, and the process for submitting comments explained.

APS programs are essential for supporting older adults and adults with disabilities facing abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation. They investigate maltreatment reports, offer case planning, evaluation, and connect individuals with vital support services. Over the past decade, ACL has led federal efforts to bolster APS programs, and the proposed rule aims to improve service quality and consistency nationwide.

Live captioning and ASL interpretation will be provided. If you need other accommodations to participate, please contact Marcia Gordon at Marcia.gordon@acl.hhs.gov

This webinar will take place on Monday, September 18 at 11:30 a.m. ET.
