The Administration for Community Living (ACL), the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), and the National Center on Law & Elder Rights (NCLER) are organizing a webinar titled "Closing the Justice Gap for Older Adults Part Three: Partnering with Adult Protective Services: Leveraging Strengths across Disciplines." This webinar aims to explore how Adult Protective Services (APS) and civil legal aid can collaborate to address elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. By leveraging a range of civil legal remedies, this partnership seeks to empower older adults who have experienced maltreatment and reduce the risk of recurrence. Presenters will discuss the intersection of elder abuse with common legal aid cases, provide an overview of APS's scope of assistance, address ethical considerations when working with APS, and share examples of successful collaborations with APS, legal services, and aging services providers.
Presenters:
Francis Nugent, Legal Services Corporation
Tovah Kasdin, Administration for Community Living
Leslie McGee, Senior Research Associate/Subject Matter Expert, APS Technical Assistance Resource Center
Sarah Galvan, Managing Director - Elder Rights, Justice in Aging
This webinar will take place on Tuesday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
