SSI Youth Solutions Involving Disability Employment Curricula and Connecting to Postsecondary Education

Event Description: 
The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Youth Solutions project is hosting a virtual conference on June 9 - 11, 2021, to discuss 12 program and policy proposals that offer evidence-based strategies to increase the employment of youth who apply for or receive SSI. 
 
Day 3: SSI Youth Solutions Involving Disability Employment Curricula and Connecting to Postsecondary Education
The third day of the conference will discuss two proposals that present curricula for youth, families, and providers to improve their focus on disability and employment issues. It will also cover two proposals that emphasize connections to postsecondary education for youth in high school or receiving vocational rehabilitation services.
 
Proposals include:
  • Family Employment Awareness Training (FEAT): A Research-Based Program for Promoting High Expectations for Employment and Knowledge of Resources
  • Employment Empowerment: A Foundational Intervention for Youth with Disabilities to Build Competitive Employment Skills
  • Progressive Education: Early Intervention Strategy to Improve Postsecondary Outcomes for Youth with Disabilities
  • Career and Technical Education for Students with Emotional Disturbance
