Measuring Home and Community-Based Services for Older Adults and People with Disabilities

Event Description:
This webinar will examine how to measure access and outcomes for home and community-based services. The webinar will focus on the importance of data, with a spotlight on data from the National Core Indicators - Aging and Disabilities (NCI-AD™), a collaborative effort between ADvancing States and the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI). Participants will learn how to use data from NCI-AD and other sources to measure the access older adults and people with disabilities have to transportation, employment, and service coordination. This webinar will also discuss comparison of outcomes across various programs, including Medicaid, OAA, and states.

Special note: ADvancing States Senior Director of NCI-AD April Young will be the presenter for this webinar.

Ms. Young is responsible for promoting outreach and awareness of NCI-AD, providing technical assistance to states, and conducting in-person training for states and surveyors. Before joining ADvancing States, Ms. Young worked as a policy advisor specializing in long term services and supports for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She played an instrumental role in the adoption of a state-wide Employment First policy and has extensive experience with home and community-based services programs. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Community and Administrative Leadership.
