Event Description:
Cornell University's Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability will present the findings from the 2017 Disability Status Report. This webinar will explore data from the recently released 2017 American Community Survey (ACS) related to disability and employment, education, poverty, household income and annual earnings. Key findings from this report include:
- 37.3% of working-age (21-64) people with disabilities were employed, compared with the 79.4% of people without disabilities.
- Over a quarter of working-age Americans with disabilities lived in poverty, compared to one in ten persons without disabilities.
The intended audience for this event includes policy analysts and policy makers, disability advocates, government representatives, educators, researchers, the media, individuals with disabilities and their family members, and workforce development professionals.
