Congressional Stories of Family Caregiving

Event Description:

The Gerontological Society of America is hosting a lunch briefing, "Congressional Stories of Family Caregiving," on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.  It will be held at the Reserve Officers Association, One Constitution Ave, NE, Washington, DC, from 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

This lunch briefing will highlight caregiving stories, including those of congressional members. Like the majority of family caregivers across the United States, senators and representatives juggle the demands of family life, work, and caregiving. This program will call attention to the challenges that family caregivers face and the recommendations set forth by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Families Caring for an Aging America report for building a national strategy to address these issues.

Space is limited, so please RSVP. Lunch will be served. This event is supported by The John A. Hartford Foundation in partnership with AARP, Alzheimer's Association, and the National Alliance for Caregiving.
