ADvancing States has been supporting states’ aging and disability agencies for more than 60 years. Our skilled staff offer state-specific technical assistance on an array of aging and disability topics including policy, state administration, program and procedures development, service delivery, data and quality measures, partnership building, outreach and communications, and stakeholder engagement.

We continuously engage with our partners in the Administration and Congress to educate and push for additional supports for state agency priorities and needs. We also collaborate with numerous other national organizations and partners that work to improve care for older adults.

As a part of our commitment to our member states we host a monthly Aging & Disability Policy meeting to discuss association policy positions, analyze legislation and regulations impacting state aging and disability programs, and assist staff with developing technical assistance tools relating to the Older Americans Act or other programs.

The State Aging Profiles have been developed to showcase the functional and high level organization of each state's aging programs, funding sources, major state initiatives, and more. This member-only resources is available through the ADvancing States IQ via a password. Member states can email Aging@advancingstates.org to obtain this password.

With an increased focus on aging work, ADvancing States conducts in-state, face-to-face visits with state aging and disability agency staff. We also engage in research calls with various state directors to further inform our aging technical assistance portfolio. Note: in-state visits are limited based on staff capacity and funding resources.
