Event Description: 

The 11th Annual LGBTQ+ Elders in an Ever-Changing World Conference will be held virtually on Friday, June 24, 2022. This one-day event will focus on interdisciplinary practice and community engagement for people working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning + older adults and caregivers. This year’s keynote speaker is award-winning filmmaker Stu Maddux, who will present “Social Isolation, Loneliness, and Resilience in LGBTQ Older Adults.”

Person-Centered Healthcare Delivery: Centering Patient Experience in Accessing Care from Home

Event Description: 
During this webinar, individuals with disabilities will interview a panel of physicians on the most person-centered ways of delivering healthcare to people with disabilities. The webinar will include tips for patients, their families, and healthcare providers on how to make the best of telehealth and home visit opportunities. Panelists will share examples from existing programs, reflect on experiences and challenges, and discuss how to implement culturally responsive practices and equitable opportunities through telehealth and home visits.
 

Serving Hispanic and Latino Older Adults and Caregivers: Creative Approaches for Social Engagement and Connection

Event Description: 
This webinar will focus on social engagement among Hispanic and Latino older adults and caregivers. During the webinar, MHP Salud will share cultural considerations when working with Hispanic and Latino older adults and caregivers as well as strategies to help organizations implement social engagement opportunities. Ventura County Area Agency on Aging, Berks County Area Agency on Aging and the Centro Hispano Daniel Torres will then highlight social engagement programs and services they offer and discuss how other organizations can develop similar programs.
