Gauging the Value of AAA Services: Results and Perspectives from a New Value Measurement Poll

This webinar discusses the results of a mini-poll about measuring the value of Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) services. The aforementioned poll investigated how AAAs measured the value of their services, and if their value proposition development has led to successful partnerships. The webinar will also describe how community-based organizations (CBOs) can use value measurement to position themselves to both expand current and add new partnerships. Finally, participants will learn how to identify methods and strategies for measuring the value of services.

Addressing Health Disparities in People Living with Dementia

Event Description: 
This webinar features two presenters who will discuss health disparities in people living with dementia. The first presenter will be Andrea Garr, a dementia specialist who contributed to the planning for and efforts to build a dementia-friendly-dementia-capable Milwaukee County. She will speak about her experiences with the United Family Caregivers project in Milwaukee and cover best practices when working in cross-cultural environments with African American caregivers. 
 

NICOA Conference on Aging in Indian Country

The 2018 National Indian Council on Aging, Inc. (NICOA) Conference on Aging in Indian Country will be held in Temecula, California. This biennial conference focuses exclusively on American Indian and Alaska Native Elders. There are many difficult questions people may encounter while doing benefits and Medicare counseling. Examples of some scenarios that may cause one to question themselves include: the criteria around when Medicare beneficiaries can receive home health care, handling overlapping Initial and Special Enrollment Periods for clients new to Medicare, and distinguishing what qualifies as allowable medical expenses under the medical expense deduction in a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application.
