This webinar will discuss the types of stigma around dementia, including prejudicial attitudes, negative stereotypes, discriminatory behaviors and social structures biased against persons with dementia. During the webinar, presenters will provide examples of how language influences stigm and review how person-centered language to counter stigma around dementia. Participants will also learn what it means to use a strength-based approach with persons who have dementia.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) recently published a report highlighting suspicious activities targeting older adults. The report examines elder financial exploitation Suspicious Activity Reports (EFE SARs) to analyze the problem of elder financial exploitation and identify ways to improve prevention and response. This webinar will discuss the findings of this study.

The National Resource Center on Nutrition & Aging is hosting a two-part webinar about recent changes in the Medicare policy landscape. These changes from CMS will enable the provision of new medical and non-medical benefits to seniors and represent an opportunity for senior nutrition programs. Representatives of the National Resource Center on Native American Aging will further discuss the process of connecting Native elders with resources.
