State of the Science and Annual Disability Statistics Compendium Event

Event Description: 

The Employment Policy and Measurement Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (EPM-RRTC) State of the Science Conference will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Following this event, the Annual Disability Statistics Compendium Event on Wednesday, February 13. These events are both held in Washington DC and offer both in-person and webcast participation options.  The agenda, presenters, and logon procedures (for web viewers) will be emailed to attendees as they become available.

Revised National Ombudsman Reporting System (NORS) Training

NORC has announced the launch of a five-part webinar series on the revised National Ombudsman Reporting System (NORS) training materials created by NORC. This webinar series will introduce the new training materials to help programs prepare for the transition to new codes, definitions, and activities on October 1, 2019. The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) is hosting a three-part webinar series on pain medication education and resources. The first webinar in this series will provide an introduction to a fundamental baseline of pain medications. It will discuss the types of pain caused by living with paralysis and the corresponding medications that may be taken. Finally, this webinar will cover potential resources for staying updated about pain medications.

Engage, Assess, Treat: Strategies for the Aging Network to Address Behavioral Health

Event Description: 
The National Council on Aging is hosting a webinar to educate the aging network on mental health issues that older adults may experience. This webinar will discuss strategies for talking to older adults about mental health. It will also cover the importance of screening individuals for anxiety and depression and discuss options for providing or referring individuals to treatment. The webinar will share best practices and lessons learned from two initiatives that focused on providing mental health services through senior centers.
 

Building The Framework For IDD Quality Measures

Event Description: 

Medicaid managed care for long term services and supports (MLTSS) is now in use or being considered in over half of the country. Medicaid managed care makes managed care organizations (MCOs) responsible for the delivery of LTSS to older adults and people with physical or intellectual or developmental disabilities. Early implementation often focused on the delivery of care for older adults and people with physical disabilities, leaving a gap in experience for its use with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD).
