2021 Call for Quality Measures Webinar

RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council (FCAC) Full Council Meeting

Event Description: 

ACL's seventh Full Council Meeting of the FCAC will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET. This meeting is virtual and open to the public and does not require registration. The FCAC council is charged with providing recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services on effective models of both family caregiving and support to family caregivers, as well as improving coordination across federal government programs.

Exploring Male Caregiving for People Living with Dementia

Event Description: 
Effective Alzheimer’s disease and dementia caregiving requires skills and understanding that are not entirely intuitive. For many men, these challenges are heightened because they are not socialized to be caregivers. This does not mean that males aren’t eager to be caregivers. However, because of the ever-changing nature of dementia disease, caregiving cannot be approached as a problem to be solved. This webinar will discuss burdens specific to male caregivers, including skill-building, asking for and receiving help, and self-care.
