The Administration for Community Living’s (ACL) National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC), with support from RTI International, is hosting an upcoming webinar titled “Strengthening the Dementia Capable Workforce: Dementia Training for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Service Providers.” This webinar will explore educational programs used to train providers of aging and intellectual and developmental disability services.

People with Disabilities and Clinical Trials: Comment Now, View Video and Slides from Workshop

Event Description: 

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) invites people with disabilities, advocates, and their disability network to submit comments on the recent FDA Workshop to Enhance Clinical Study Diversity. This workshop included discussions focused on the inclusion of people with disabilities, with a focus on people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Switzer Research Fellowships Program

On December 1, The Administration for Community Living’s (ACL) National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) announced a new funding opportunity for the Switzer Research Fellowships Program. The purpose of this program is to build research capacity by providing support to highly qualified individuals, including those who have disabilities, to conduct research on the rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities.

Senior Center Summit: Reframing Aging

Event Description: 

Join the National Council on Aging's (NCOA) Modernizing Senior Centers Resource Center and the National Center to Reframe Aging for an interactive virtual summit exploring ways to effectively communicate about senior centers. The summit will provide information, resources, examples, and activities that participants can use to enhance the image of their center and be an agent of change in combatting ageism in their community.

Event Description: 

The National Council on Aging (NCOA), with funding from the Administration for Community Living (ACL), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), is seeking presenters for the 7th Annual Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day (OAMHAD) symposium, scheduled for May 2, 2024.

Community Care Hub 101 Learning Series

The Administration for Community Living (ACL), in collaboration with the Center of Excellence to Align Health and Social Care (powered by USAging’s Aging and Disability Business Institute), is inviting community-based organizations servin gas community care hubs (CCHs) to participate in a four-part Community Care Hub 101 Learning Series. This series, taking place on four Thursdays from mid-November through December, aims to educate and support organizations interested in the community care hub model.

ACL/CDC Webinar: Fall Vaccinations and the Bridge Access Program

Event Description: 

Join the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a webinar discussing the CDC’s fall vaccination guidance and the Bridge Access Program. Participants will learn about the most recent vaccine guidance issued from the CDC and the Bridge Access Program, which temporarily provides no-cost COVID-19 vaccines to adults without health insurance and adults whose insurance does not cover all COVID-19 vaccine costs.
