A next step after collecting better data, better is to utilize those data to inform policy and operations. Standardized data also provide the unique opportunity to compare participant characteristics across states in a scientifically valid manner – something that is completely unique to states using interRAI systems. The ADvancing interRAI initiative will provide technical support to help states correctly encode data so that it is consistent with interRAI guidelines and can be used accurately. Annual reports with the resulting non-PHI data will feature cross-state profiles characterizing the populations served in participating states.
