Survivors’ Circle: A Conversation with People with Disabilities About Sexual Violence and How to Address It

Event Description:

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary (OASH), in collaboration with other organizations, are organizing a webinar focused on addressing sexual violence against individuals with disabilities, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD). This webinar aims to raise awareness about the higher rates of sexual assault experienced by this community and the accessibility barriers they face in accessing care and support services. Survivors of sexual assault with ID/DD will share their experiences, discuss challenges in seeking support, and provide recommendations for improving access to care and justice. This webinar targets a diverse audience, including disability service providers, survivor advocates, and various government agencies and organizations working in the field.
