Event Description:
ACL is hosting a virtual workshop to address the impact on services for older adults who depend on community service providers for basic needs and social supports during a major disaster. ACL has partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region II to provide a workshop to better prepare area agencies on aging (AAAs) and other organizations who provide support services for older adults for emergencies. Topics for the workshop include:
- Continuity Basics and Preparedness Messaging
- Preparedness Planning for Seniors
- Disaster Mental Health Issues for Seniors
- State Unit on Aging/Area Agency on Aging Case Studies
- Discussion Modules
This workshop will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET.
