On April 10, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a proposed rule for fiscal year (FY) 2024, outlining updates to Medicare payment policies and rates for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) under the Skilled Nursing Facility Prospective Payment System (SNF PPS). The rule also includes proposals for the SNF Quality Reporting Program (QRP) and the SNF Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Program. CMS is publishing this proposed rule in accordance with legal requirements for annual updates to Medicare payment policies for SNFs. Furthermore, on Wednesday, May 24, CMS will be hosting an educational webinar titled "FY 2024 SNF PPS Proposed Rule Overview," which will provide an in-depth overview of the major proposals for the SNF VBP Program as outlined in the FY 2024 SNF PPS Proposed Rule.
