The National Center on Law & Elder Rights (NCLER) is hosting an upcoming webinar titled "Elder Abuse Basics: Civil Legal Responses." This webinar will focus on how legal assistance providers can support older adults who have experienced abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
This basics training will focus on how legal assistance providers can work to:
- Prevent or reduce the risk of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Provide options for intervention to stop abuse and place the person in a position of safety when abuse occurs.
- Help restore the person who has experienced abuse to a stronger position, including through civil action to recover damages and assets based on various legal causes of action.
- Increase awareness of abuse through community-based initiatives.
This webinar will take place on Tuesday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
