6th Annual Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day

Event Description: 
The U.S. Administration for Community Living, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the National Council on Aging (NCOA) are collaborating to host the 6th Annual Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day. This virtual symposium is scheduled to take place on May 11, 2023, and is designed for public health practitioners, mental health providers, aging network professionals, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in ensuring the mental health of older adults. Sessions will cover topics such as enhancing social cohesion, managing chronic pain, and providing support to caregivers, which can have a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of older adults. The symposium will also feature a keynote address by Montel Williams, a well-known advocate for multiple sclerosis research and mental health awareness.
