
Webinar on the Connection Between Isolation and the Risk of Elder Abuse
The San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services and the Institute on Aging's Elder Abuse Prevention program is hosting a webinar on the connection of isolation and risks of elder abuse. The webinar is designed to identify different types of isolation for older adults and adults with disabilities, examine possible isolation red flags in connecting to abuse, and how minimizing isolation can lower the risk of elder abuse. Critical tools and resources about breaking isolation and preventing elder abuse will be shared.
By the end of the webinar, participants will:
- Learn five types of isolation forms
- Connect the dots between isolation and risks of elder abuse
- Gain knowledge of critical tools and resources to better support elder abuse survivors in staying safe and connected
