Director of Aging Programs

The Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) is seeking a Director of Aging Programs. The position is responsible for supervising the activities of Program Coordinators and Fiscal Staff within the Division for Aging Services in management of Older Americans Act initatives, resources, and programs.

Minimum Qualifications: 

•  Extensive experience in staff supervision, leadership, and performance evaluation. Extensive experience with long-term care/aging and vulnerable adults and experience managing programs, including planning, and directing the work of staff.
• Experience must demonstrate knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and policies, including, but not limited to, the Older Americans Act.
• Working knowledge of, and ability to communicate information about, aging services and long-term care services and supports, including interdependencies, funding, and role.
• Knowledge of and able to successfully work with the aging network and its services delivery systems, including area agencies on aging, health care systems, other state and local government agencies, human service organizations, for profit organizations and private not-for-profit agencies.
