The Role of Doulas at End-of-Life

This webinar, hosted by the American Society on Aging, will provide a brief overview of the current state of end-of-life care in the U.S., utilizing research reports from NHPCO, AARP, Kaiser, and Medicare. It will cover the advantages and difficulties associated with in-home hospice and caregiving, aiming to introduce the necessity for an end-of-life doula in the care model. The webinar will discuss the role of this model, the kind of individuals who usually pursue this profession, the training offered through the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA), the scope of their practice, the services they provide, the various settings in which they operate, and how to find a trained end-of-life doula.
