ADvancing States Submits Comments on COVID FMAP Rule

On Thursday, October 27, 2022 ADvancing States submitted comments to CMS on the reopening of the public comment period for the Temporary Increase in Federal Medical Assistance Percentage in Response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (CMS-9912-N). In the letter, ADvancing States expresses concerns that rescinding the 2020 Interim Final Rule would be administratively and logistically challenging for states, would be confusing for participants, and would create unintended consequences that could negatively impact participants and providers. Additionally, the letter requests clarification regarding the effective date of any potential changes.
