On Aging 2022

Event Description: 
ASA's On Aging 2022 Conference is now open for registration. The theme of On Aging 2022 is Advancing Economic Security. Aging professionals are encouraged to attend the conference to learn from keynotes, general sessions, workshops, and special events focused on ASA's five priority areas: justice and equity, innovation and social impact, health and well-being, economic security, and ageism and culture.
 
On Aging 2022 will be held in New Orleans, LA, April 11 to 14, 2022.
 

Race, Disability, Organizational Culture, and Social Change: Promising Practices from Centers for Independent Living

Event Description: 

This session will explore promising practices in cultivating a welcoming and equitable culture, designed to include people of color with disabilities who are both consumers of services and staff offering support. Presenters represent various Centers for Independent Living. All panelists are multiply marginalized people with disabilities who are recognized for their efforts to advocate for equity in both the provision of supports and the leadership of staff.

 

2021 Elder Justice Training

Event Description: 
Join the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for the annual Elder Justice Training on November 5, 2021. Speakers will address issues facing older adults today including housing, telehealth issues, elder abuse, estate planning, fraud and more. This training has been approved for 6.25 CLEs for attorneys in Nebraska as well as 6.7 CEUs for nurses in Nebraska. If you are not located in Nebraska please reach out to your licensing board to confirm if you can receive credit.

Addressing the Care Fragmentation Crisis for Dually Eligible Individuals

This webinar will explore state strategies that are addressing the complex needs of dual eligibles and their effectiveness. DLTSS Training Series: Leveraging Family Caregivers For Personal Care Services in 1915(c) Waiver Programs

Event Description: 
This training will discuss personal care services (PCS) in 1915(c) programs and the role of family caregivers in service delivery. The session will also highlight federal guidance, state strategies for using family caregivers for 1915(c) PCS service delivery, and cover policy considerations for program quality and fiscal integrity safeguards.
 
This webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET.
 

Supporting Adults with I/DD and Their Aging Caregivers

Event Description: 
CMS is hosting a webinar to provide recommendations from the June 2021 Supporting Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and Their Aging Caregivers Summit. This event will focus on strategies for state Medicaid agencies and their partner agencies to improve the delivery of supports and services for adults with I/DD and their aging caregivers.
