TIM Talks Webinar: Health IT and the Community Based Organization (CBO)

Event Description: 

ACL's Office of Nutrition and Health Promotion Programs (ONHPP), in collaboration with consultant Tim McNeill, invites you to a business acumen webinar on Health IT Interoperability and the Community Based Organization (CBO).

This webinar will review the requirements for Health IT and clinical integration, physician requirements, options to consider when selecting a vendor, and preparation for compliance. As always, participants will also have an opportunity to ask any other Business Acumen related questions through the chat function after the webinar presentation.

Webinar: Cultural Awareness in Dementia Care

Event Description: 

The Administration for Community Living’s National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center has partnered with the American Society on Aging for a new webinar series.  The first webinar is titled, "Cultural Awareness in Dementia Care." Participants who attend this webinar will learn about the steps for implementation related to the Minnesota Board on Aging’s Cultural Awareness in Dementia Care initiative.

Webinar: Title VI Grant Applications

The Administration for Community Living is hosting a webinar on Title VI. Every three years, Tribal Communities, Native Alaskan Villages and Native Hawaiian Organizations have an opportunity to reapply for their Title VI Grants for elder services. Reapplication is necessary in order to continue providing services. ACL is holding a webinar to offer assistance with the process as Title VI grant applications are due on December 5, 2016.

Webinar: What CMS' Proposed Expansion of Bundled Payments for Cardiac Care and Care Coordination Means for CBOs

The Administration for Community Living’s Office of Nutrition and Health Promotion Programs (ONHPP), in collaboration with health care consultant Tim McNeill, is hosting a business acumen webinar on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' proposed expansion of bundled payments for cardiac care and care coordination. This webinar will answer questions about the proposed rule changes and how community-based organizations can play a role in new payment models. Participants are also encouraged to ask any other business acumen-related questions.

Webinar: National Quality Forum's HCBS Quality project

The National Quality Forum’s (NQF) published the last interim report, "Addressing Performance Measure Gaps in Home and Community-Based Services to Support Community Living: Priorities for Measure Development." It details the findings and milestones in the home and community-based services (HCBS) Quality project performed under contract with the US Department of Health and Human Services.  The HCBS Committee will meet via the web on Thursday, August, 4, 2016; the meeting is open to members and the public.

Legal Responses to Elder Abuse: The Role of APS, Legal Aid, and Protection and Advocacy" webinar will explore best practice models of collaborations between legal provider, adult protective services, and protection and advocacy networks in responding to difficult legal issues arising from elder abuse. 

Webinar: Capacity and Vulnerability to Elder Abuse

The National Legal Resource Center (NLRC) has upcoming webinars in their series of National Elder Rights Training Project sessions Additional sponsorship for the webinars is provided by the Administration for Community Living (ACL). "Capacity and Vulnerability to Elder Abuse" will discuss legal standards of capacity necessary for valid transactions involving wills, contracts, Powers of Attorney, and guardianship or conservatorship. The speakers will discuss cognitive capacity, consent, and undue influence.

The Administration for Community Living (ACL), Office of Nutrition and Health Promotion Programs (ONHPP), in collaboration with consultant Tim McNeill, invites you to the Business Acumen webinar entitled, “Where Do I Begin” scheduled for Tuesday, May 17th from 1:00 – 2:30pm Eastern Time.  This question and answer webinar will include examples of the types of services being sold by community based providers, their price ranges, and what community based providers need to have in place to be successful in working with health care providers.

ACL Webinar: Translating Evidence-Based Practices to Community Settings for People Aging with Disabilities and their Caregivers: Gaps and Opportunities

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) is hosting a webinar on translating evidence-based practices to community settings for people aging with disabilities and their caregivers. The webinar agenda is as follows: Introductory remarks from ACL; setting the context; translating a wellness promotion intervention for individuals with aging with physical disabilities: state of the science and next steps; and translating evidence-based dementia caregiving interventions into practice: state-of-the-science and next steps. The webinar will end with ACL comments and a group discussion.
