The Aging Network plays a critical role in delivering services to older adults across the country. Yet, LGBT older adults often remain invisible and may not seek services due to fear of, and experiences with, discrimination. In 2017, SAGE’s National Resource Center on LGBT Aging released the guide Strengthen Your State and Local Aging Plan: A Practical Guide for Expanding LGBT Inclusion. Join this webinar to hear from State Units on Aging who have been successful in including LGBT older adults in their state plans. They will discuss how planning has helped with LGBT outreach and services, as well as challenges and lessons learned.
Speakers of this webinar include: Greg Link, MA, Director, Office of Supportive and Caregiver Services, ACL/AoA; Dean Fujimoto, Deputy Director, Long-Term Care and Aging Services, California Department on Aging; Lisa Krinsky, Director, LGBT Aging Project; Mary DeRoo, Director of Home and Community Programs, Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs; and Sherrill Wayland, Manager of National Projects, SAGE.
Please join us on Tuesday, March 13, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET for this webinar being co-hosted by ADvancing States.
