Addressing Food Insecurity for People Living Alone with Dementia
The National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center will hold a webinar exploring how to address food insecurity for people living alone with dementia using evidence-informed strategies.
National data indicate that nearly one quarter of older Americans living alone have dementia, yet traditional senior meal delivery programs are not always designed to address the unique needs of individuals with cognitive impairment, who may have difficulty safely storing, preparing, or cooking meals.
In this webinar, participants will learn about common barriers to food-based services experienced by individuals living alone with dementia, the key components of an effective food delivery service model for people living alone with dementia, and best practices for measuring the impact of services for this population.

- Kristen Romea, Director of Supportive Services, Alzheimer’s San Diego
- Nelly Gonzalez, Supportive Services Manager, Alzheimer’s San Diego
