
Webinar: 2025 Age-Friendly Ecosystem Summit
The George Washington University's Center for Aging, Health and Humanities is hosting the 2025 Age-Friendly Ecosystem Summit virtually this fall. This free, regional, collaborative event is held in partnership with Age-Friendly Alexandria, Arlington, DC, Howard County, Hyattsville, Montgomery County, Orange County NC, AARP NC Coastal Region, and the Georgetown Center for Healthy Aging.
Sessions will be held each Thursday in October from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Topics include:
- October 9th: The State of Aging Policy: What’s Changed and What’s Next?
- Join us on National Ageism Awareness Day for a powerful opening session that unpacks the latest federal policy changes affecting older adults, caregivers, and aging services. Experts will break down what’s new, what’s missing, and what’s next on the horizon, helping you stay informed and ready to act in your community.
- October 16th: Reimagining Housing: Designing for Longevity
- As our population ages, housing must do more than shelter - it must support wellness, accessibility, and community. Join us to explore housing policy, innovative designs, affordability solutions, and emerging trends that promote independence and dignity across the lifespan.
- October 23rd: Aging with Confidence: Strategies for Financial and Social Well-being
- To age with confidence means having the tools to live long and live well. This session explores how financial resilience and the 'currency' of social connection can work together to support a healthy and resilient journey through every stage of life.
- October 30th: Building your AI Awareness: Pearls and Perils
- Artificial intelligence is transforming our world - for better and for worse. Learn how AI can support aging through health, connection, and safety, while also uncovering the ethical and security risks, ageism concerns, and protections we must champion to create a truly age-friendly digital future.
